ESC/P requires more coding than Template printing but it means you do not have to configure a printer first before deploying it.
The ESC/P Command Guides are a free download with no royalty fees to pay. There is a difference in the ESC/P commands used for PocketJet and Mprint due to different paper sizes supported.
